We at The Homemaker's Hustle do not conduct additional renders on the already-rendered tallow that we currently use in our balms and butters. Doing so reduces its beneficial properties. True deodorization cannot be obtained without commercial refining. Therefore, the unflavored version of our lip balm may initially have a mild "fatty essence" upon opening. However, once applied to the skin, it quickly dissipates. If this is a deterrent for you, we have a Vanilla Bean Latte version available for your consideration.
